These are a super yummy main dish to get in your protein . Place a bowl of the protein meat mixture on the center of a platter. Then place lettuce leaves around bowl on the edge of the platter. You can use various lettuces for a beautiful variety. Each person makes a wrap and eats as they go. These are good just like this, but rice is a good side option. These lettuce wraps are a great low carb, tasty way to get in protein.
You always need to make sure you are getting enough protein. The general rule is to get 0.7 to 1 gram per pound that you weigh everyday. Here are all the ingredients for the meat sauce. We used a package of ground turkey from Costco. Turkey is an easy healthier replacement for ground beef and you won’t miss the beef in this recipe. We keep ginger in the freezer. It is easy to peel and grate straight from the freezer and it keeps much longer. Hoisin Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Soy Sauce (low sodium), dark Sesame Oil, Go Chu Jang red chili paste, and chili oil can all be found on the Asian Isle at the grocery store. If not, then definitely at the Asian Grocery Store.

Easy Turkey Asian Lettuce Wraps
Ingredients
- 1-2 bunches Green Leaf or Butter Leaf Lettuce Leaves
- 1.87 lb pkg Ground Turkey 1 package from Costco
- 1 Tbsp Avocado Oil
- 1 large Onion chopped
- 1/3 cup Hoisin Sauce
- 2.5 cloves Garlic minced
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce (low sodium)
- 2 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Ginger grated
- 2 Tbsp Gochujang red chili paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 bunches green onion chopped (5.5 oz.)
- 1 Tbsp Asian (dark) Sesame Oil
- 1 dash hot chili oil optional
Instructions
- Rinse whole lettuce leave and pat dry, being careful not to tear. Place in container with paper towels and set aside.
- Brown turkey; cook and stir until brown and crumbly, 5-7 minutes. Drain and discard grease; transfer turkey to a bowl. Add onion to the same skillet; cook and stir until onions begin to become transparent, 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in hoisin sauce, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, gochujang sauce, and salt until well combined. Add green onions, sesame oil, and cooked turkey; cook and stir until the green onions begin to wilt, about 2 minutes. Optional: add hot chili oil for added heat
- Spoon meat mixture in the center of each leaf, wrap and enjoy.
