Easy Turkey Asian Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 1-2 bunches Green Leaf or Butter Leaf Lettuce Leaves
  • 1.87 lb pkg Ground Turkey 1 package from Costco
  • 1 Tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 1/3 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 2.5 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Ginger grated
  • 2 Tbsp Gochujang red chili paste
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 bunches green onion chopped (5.5 oz.)
  • 1 Tbsp Asian (dark) Sesame Oil
  • 1 dash hot chili oil optional

Instructions

  • Rinse whole lettuce leave and pat dry, being careful not to tear. Place in container with paper towels and set aside.
  • Brown turkey; cook and stir until brown and crumbly, 5-7 minutes. Drain and discard grease; transfer turkey to a bowl. Add onion to the same skillet; cook and stir until onions begin to become transparent, 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in hoisin sauce, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, gochujang sauce, and salt until well combined. Add green onions, sesame oil, and cooked turkey; cook and stir until the green onions begin to wilt, about 2 minutes. Optional: add hot chili oil for added heat
  • Spoon meat mixture in the center of each leaf, wrap and enjoy.

Notes

These are great for conversations around the table with everyone making their own.
Rice is a good side option.
